Teachers on strike

This "My Big Dummy" character hit the nail on the head with this one, baby. Teachers in Detroit are in talks with the district about their pay and, as a result, the kids are sitting at home wasting time in front of the TV and the PlayStation®, not getting the education they need.

This is sending a mixed message, see? Kids are taught to stay in school and learn, but the school has to be open first. Instead, it's not, because neither side can agree. I think the adults have more growing up to do than the kids on this one. I'm not sayin' the teachers or the district is right, I'm saying the kids are being wronged, baby. The wee ones are getting the message that education isn't the most important thing; cash is.

Dave Ramsey would say it himself ... cash may be important, but an education is priceless.

not really relevant to your post but I thought you'd get a kick out of this....my kids were watching Scooby Doo today. It's an updated version where the gang looks like the old crew but they have cell phones and use current vernacular. Today they were solving a "mystery" in Italy and ran into a bit of a problem when their rented motorscooters crashed into the sea. No problem!! Daphne says, "it sure is a good thing I have a CREDIT CARD for emergenices and bad hair days!"

I almost lost my lunch. Wonder what company sponsors the show 'eh, to brain wash my kids....

MY children though, listen to Dave's radio show regularly enough that every single one of them picked up on it and said, "nuh, uh...she needs an EMERGENCY FUND" :D :D

Sounds like Scooby Doo should be called Scooby Debt! The Daphne dame may have said "Good thing I have a credit card," but the REAL good thing was your kids saying "emergency fund". Way to go on teaching your kids about cash!
